Computer Classes

Computer Basic 1
This class is designed for those with little or no experience using a computer and stress's the needs of those that are working to gain more marketable job skills.
    Skills:
  • Turning off/on the computer.
  • Using the mouse and keyboard.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
  • Basic computer hardware components.
  • Basic computer software concepts.
  • Using MS Paint and WordPad.
Computer Basic 2
This class is a continuation of Computer Basics 1.
    Skills:
  • Managing files and folders.
  • Creating and deleting shortcuts.
  • Maintaining your computer.
Microsoft Word 2000
This class is designed to introduce the students to word processing. Microsoft Word 2000 is the latest version of Microsofts's Word Program. It will be used by many businesses in the near future and can be incredibly powerful when you learn how to use it effectively. This is a great course to take if you are looking to train or re-train yourself for the job market.
    Skills:
  • How to start the Word Program.
  • Elements of the Word Screen.
  • Creating, saving and opening documents.
  • Spell and grammer check.
  • Printing.
  • Formatting with fonts and paragraph styles
Introduction to the Internet
We offer this class for those of you that would like to learn more about the Internet, how it works and what it can do for you!
    Skills:
  • Basic concepts of the Internet and the World Wide Web(WWW).
  • Teach you how to browse,"Surf the Web".
  • Introduce you to search engines.
  • Introduce and help you open your OWN FREE E-mail account.
Our Students

Students who typically attend our classes at ECCC Computer Center are of many ages and backgrounds. Many have little or no experience with computers and don't know where to begin. We off a variety of classes and opportunities to introduce user's to the wonderful world of computers. All of our classes are designed to encourage students to move at their won pace and level without feeling intimidated.

Other students have a specific career goal in mind. They know that is today's job market, computer skills are necessary. These students want to increase their skills in word processing, spreadsheets and general computer use. Our program can help each student set goals and develop the skills needed to enter the job market.

No matter what your reason ECCC Computer Center is here to help you have fun while you learn to feel comfortable using computers.
